RPS Alum Visits Central Education Center, Shares History
We had a surprise visitor at our recent open house! Norm Plasch was a student at the Central Education Center from 1959-1966, back when this was an elementary school. Norm graduated from Richfield Public Schools in 1972. He and his wife made a special trip to Central for our open house to see the building and share some history with us.
Fun Fact: Norm said that there were about 700 hundred students here when he attended elementary school. All 700 students were fed hot lunch out of the lunch room, which is now our multipurpose room. The room is quite small for 700 students, but Norm explained that there were lots of lunch shifts to accommodate all the students.
Norm is an absolute delight and it was a privilege to chat with him and learn about the history of our building.
