Face Covering Update for Preschool & Early Childhood

Recently, the CDC further clarified its guidance around face coverings in schools. The community ratings of low, medium or high risk and associated recommendations apply to the entire community, including those who are not yet eligible for vaccination. At the last school board meeting, the board approved a revision to School Board Policy 548: COVID-19 Face Covering to reflect that early childhood and preschool classrooms do not need to follow a different standard than the rest of the District.

Students and staff in early childhood and preschool classrooms are no longer required to wear face coverings, as long as the COVID-19 community level in Hennepin County remains in the low or medium range.

Please note that face coverings are still recommended for all individuals in Richfield Public Schools.
